SCLI provides an excellent level of pastoral care for students. Our school advisor is a Japanese national and is available at school several afternoons each week. She is also able to be contacted in an emergency at any time. The school advisor is also available to accompany students to doctor’s or dentist’s appointments to translate if necessary.

The weather co-operated last Friday so that the school could enjoy the visit to Ferrymead in comfortable conditions. The hands-on education programme offered there is very good with the Ferrymead staff getting into role as teacher/store owner/lady of the house.
I hope everyone coped with the recent hot weather that seems to coincide with being back at school. The heat pumps/ air conditioners we installed at SCLI about a year ago are appreciated in the classrooms especially in the afternoons although students always seem to favour a slightly warmer temperature than the rest of us!
At today’s meeting we discussed the Coronavirus outbreak and the importance of hand washing and staying home when we are unwell. We also talked about what will happen if students are sick on an exam day…
First of all I would like to wish you all a happy new year and thank the families who took their host daughters away on the great holidays we have been hearing about.
We have hit the ground running so to speak; all classes have Test 5 coming up in the next few weeks and this will be followed shortly after by final exams.
